Add a footnote (quick method)
In Google Docs:
- Place your cursor where you want the footnote
- Click on Insert in the top menu
- Select Footnote
→ A number will appear in the text and a footnote section will be added at the bottom

- Mac: Press Command + Option + F
→ Instantly adds a footnote
Edit or remove a footnote
- Type your content in the footnote area
- To remove it, delete the number in the main text
